Today, we are labeling, because an order from Japan will soon be picked up and shipped from Le Havre. First the bottles have to be cleaned and the boxes assembled. A tedious process! Thomas is struggling with the labeling machine, while I’m labeling by hand – Thomas doesn’t give up until 4 p.m. but then calls a mechanic who is actually available immediately and will repair the device within an hour. We are already looking forward to the next day – it will go so much faster! We celebrate the machine’s comeback with Cyrille Sevin’s gorgeous »Une Lente Mélopée« (»A Slow Melody«) from 2018, a wine which, unfortunately, I will not be able to sell as there aren’t enough bottles left. It’s gorgeous, a perfect assemblage of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay grapes.
